Nomad said do a desert... so a desert I did. Well, until I decided to add grass. But, anyway... it's a random generated terrain, three terrain-textures, ever-so-slightly modified skyscape. I mentioned that all I needed was a strip of Halo on the horizon, heh.
So that got me wondering... how the heck could I do that? After about an hour of a severe crash course in Masks, I accidentally found out how they work and voila! The transparent clouds are from Terragen (the Halo screenshot only had the starscape and Halo) that I added in after putting the shot together, and then I darkened it a considerable amount. I think it turned out very well. ^_^
Halo is copyright Bungie and Microsoft and whoever else owns it... I did not ask permission to use their assets, but since I do not plan on selling, I hope it will be okay. (To be safe, I give up all rights to this image, heh.)
Ack, am I using an old version or something? You claim to use only 3 textures, and yet I've used 4 or 5 and my stuff still looks grainy and unrealistic.
Ah well, I don't have any experience with Halo, but this piece looks really good!
Wow, great blend. ^_^ The atmospheres and lighting seem to match well across the whole picture.. which is an advantage.. hehe. And I like your rock texture too.. so yay.
Very, good. It's getting a favorite.
One thing, though... I'm not sure the angle of light on the Halo agrees with the light on the ground. Notice the shadow at the top cast by the part of the ring we can't see. The light should probably be coming from the tip right, then.
Nonetheless, it's very good!
